FIRST IMPRESSIONS, REVIEW E SWATCHES
I've been flirting with these bad boys for quite some time now, but because I couldn't find them anywhere here in Europe, I ended up delaying my order time and time again.
Well, time has finally come for me to make my very first order from ColourPop, all the way from Los Angeles.
As soon as I placed my hands on this package I felt my heart beating a little bit faster and I couldn't wait to get home to open all my new products and (finally) try them out.
It wasn't until the moment when I was opening the first liquid lipstick that I thought I had to share this with you. But when David (who has never ever ever had made a compliment on my makeup before) told me how beautiful that color looked on me (not the one one the pics, btw), I was certain that I couldn't miss this opportunity.
I got two matte liquid lipsticks in the shades Bumble and Midi, one satin finish liquid lipstick in the shade Frick 'N Frack, one lippie stix in the shade Brink, a highlighter shade Lunch Money and a bronzer in the shade Paradise Cove.
I never had a highlighter or bronzer before because I never really felt the need to use any of them for the makeup style that I usually wear. But I was curious to see what difference it would make on my look if I incorporated these two products, and ColourPop seemed to be the perfect brand to begin with.
I heard some people complaining that liquid lipsticks are hard to put on with precision, but I honestly find it easier than a regular lipstick, not to mention that they last way longer throughout the day. It's like a lip gloss but as soon as they dry it's a simple lipstick, in oppose to lip gloss that always makes me get my hair glued to my lips, and eventually smudge it all over my face. How annoying! Also, they're fading is homogeneous, so I don't feel too self-conscious about re-applying it.
On that note, and moving on to another product, the Brink pencil lipstick is my to-go and I always keep it in my bag. I usually don't re-apply lipstick unless I go out to eat any sort of grease food or spend the entire day out. If I do so, I will change to this lipstick. It has nothing to fail, the shade is beautiful and neutral so it adapts very well with any makeup you're wearing and the packaging not only makes it very easy to apply with precision but it is great to bring along with you. The formula feels very moisturizing, even though this is a matte finish, and not dry at all, and the smell of it feels just right. It reminds me of cocoa or chocolate, but I could be totally wrong here with my sense of smell. haha!
So as you can see, in terms of lips, I decided to move to the nude shades this time, and I don't regret it at all.
I normally use it on top of my cheeks, cupid's bow, a bit under the eyebrow and sometimes also a bit in the inner corner of my eye. Let me know if you'd like to see how I do my everyday makeup and I'll be glad to show it to you!
Moving onto the bronzer, I got mine in the shade Paradise Cove and I also find it super natural on my skin. I use it to contour jut a bit under my cheekbone. It almost doesn't look like it is there but, as the highlighter, they are both doing their job in disguise. And that's to me in terms of makeup what it's all about. Just bringing out the best of you. The consistency is the same as the highlighter and the finish is satin. This is the perfect shade for light to medium skin.
So overall I loved this experience and I've been reaching out to these products for the past couple of months, anytime I do my makeup. The hardest decision is always to choose which lipstick to wear.
Another great thing about this brand is that all their products are cruelty-free and, for the most part, vegan (here you can find a short list on their website for a couple of products that aren't vegan) so everyone can wear it with no hard feelings.
Have you ever tried any of their products? Which products would you recommend me to try? Let me know in the comments. I would love to try some new lipsticks. (Can you tell that I have a new obsession?).
