WALL WIRE GRID DISPLAY

THE EASIEST GRID DISPLAY YOU'LL EVER DO

Mesh board DIY

Since we moved to this house I knew where my desk would be, and after changing the ugly wallpaper into these beautiful matte white walls I couldn't wait to start this DIY.

The original idea wasn't to use this material, but since we got a lot of it left in the basement, from the previous owners, I tried it on and it seemed quite alright. Also, this material is super easy to use, so win-win!

All you need is:
  • Wire grid
  • Measuring tape
  • Thin nails
  • Hammer
  • Cutting pliers
  • Protection gloves (optional)
DIY project
First off you'll need to measure the size of the wall and the wire grid accordingly. I decided to incorporate the shape of the wall behind my desk so I counted a bit more and then just cut the spare off. It has approximately 120x100cm.
Once you know the measurements, open the grid on a flat surface and mark where you'll need to cut. You can do this by making a small cut on the edge or, if you're sure that the measurements are correct, you can start cutting it completely in the shape that you want.
If it's easier for you, you can also ask to cut in the size that you need directly at the hardware store, I know that most of them do this and that way it will facilitate a lot of your work!

Once you're happy with the size, take the grid to the wall and start nailing it. This may be the most difficult part as the grid tends to slide. I was doing it alone, so I pushed my body against the wall, to keep it in place, while using both hands to nail the grid to the wall, but you can always find someone to help you out with this step.

When the wire grid is secured to the wall, start spreading it by putting a bit of pressure with your fingers and continue nailing it until you find that it is totally secured to the wall.

Brainy days coper clips and lights

I used a lot of mini clips, the copper clippers that I showed you before, and some silver clippers as well, to hang the pictures, prints, and photos. I also used my copper lights to decorate and give it a touch of colorful light, and I love the end result.
Let me know what you think and don't forget to share it!
