FAVORITES | VOL. I

Every time I use something good, I like to share it with others. So here is just a sneak peak of a couple of my random favorites. These are products that I use on a regular basis. I have not been paid to do this, but I believe that when you find something that's really good and worth trying, it is a good idea to spread the word, so here it goes. I hope you like it!

Sóley Organics skincare

It is not a secret the love I have for Iceland. I discovered the brand Soley Organics on our trip there and these two products became a part of my essential beauty care since then.
I find that this brand has great natural products and oh so good! None of their products have a particularly good smell, in fact, they just smell like nature does.
They are not the cheapest care products you can find but they're so worth it. Plus, if you use them with moderation you'll notice that they'll actually last a while.
I love everything about this! From the simplicity of the packaging to the natural smells and textures that the products have.
On the left is the steinEY which is a mineral clay mask made out of the famous volcano Eyjafjallajökull (try to read this out loud and let me know how that went) and believe me it does smell like earth, in a good way. On the right is the GLÓey which is a purifying exfoliator with peppermint and wild Icelandic herbs that smell so refreshing.
I like to use them on special occasions like my weekly baths. While the tub gets filled with water I prepare the steinEY mineral mask, just mixing it with a bit of warm water and put it on my face. Then I emerge in the warm water and enjoy my relaxing bath while the mask does its wonders and makes me look as sexy as something from another planet (always a nice time for a pic). Like any other clay mask, it is ready to rinse off when it's all dry. I like to leave it a little longer so once I am ready to leave the bath I will use the water from the bath to rinse off the mask and then gently scrub my face for a couple of minutes with the GLÓey purifying exfoliator, let it set for a bit and rinse everything off with fresh water.
It just feels so good to relax and remember all the great times in Iceland.
Rituals face cream

To moisturize my face I've been loving the Rituals Deep Recovery Night Cream and the Sensitive Skin Face Lotion.
I love the formula on this products, they are very light, smell good and aren't greasy at all. They just make me feel fresh and ready for the day, or night!
On a day-to-day basis, I also use the Creamy Foam Cleanser and the Brightening Face Exfoliator from Rituals. I like to use both in the morning while I am in the shower and at night I usually just use the Aloe Gentle Facial Cleanser from The Body Shop. I love that it comes as a light foam, doesn't have any perfume and it is super easy to rinse off.

Lush passion fruit lip balm and popcorn lip scrub

Oh yes, say what you want but I am also a Lush addicted. I mean, how is it possible to resist?
Indeed there are a few (not that many) days that I think "wow this is just to much smell for me" but there are some products that I just love and cannot resist. Every time I go to a Lush store I end up spending quite a lot of minutes smelling and reading a bunch of products and always come home with a bag full of new stuff. And it feels sooooo good!
The popcorn lip scrub it's just awesome for those days when I have my lips completely cracked. I just put a bit of this on my lips and gently scrub them together or with my finger, trying not to swallow it, then rinse it off and make sure to use a high moisturizing balm afterward. It smells so Yummy!
The passion fruit lip balm is amazing! I love the smell, the color, and the packaging as well. This was actually a Christmas gift from David, so every time I'm with him and I apply this I make sure to give him a kiss!

Burt's Bees lip balm

Well, I am also a sucker for Burt's Bees' products and I have a small collection that I love.
I am very concerned about our bees, I mean we really do need them, so I do my best to try to save them. And what a best way then start by using these products? It's just perfect because they are so freaking good!
On top is the lip shimmer in the color champagne. As the one below it, it has a very refreshing peppermint aroma, it is very moisturizing, but it's not plain as it adds some shimmer and light color as well. The third from the top it's a tinted lip balm, it doesn't have a particular smell or taste and it is in the color Petunia which is a sexy but natural looking dry pink. The one underneath it is another moisturizing lip balm like the second but instead of the fresh peppermint smell, which I find that works better during summer, it has pomegranate oil that makes it irresistible for those cold days.

Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter

Body!
I bought this Mama Bee belly butter when I was pregnant with Eva and it is amazing! This was actually one of the first products I bought from this brand and I fell in love with it.
It doesn't have smell like the belly cream I used up before, which is nice because we all know how pregnancy hormones can make you feel sick even with the best smells. But it's also good because it won't interfere with my perfume, hair products, and bladibla other smells.
This is super moisturizing and it has Shea butter and vitamin E, so I find it really good for very dry skin as well.

Burt's Bees calming lotion for baby

Of course after the Mama Bee has to come Baby Bee.
I use this on Eva to give her a moisturizing and relaxing massage after the bath, before bedtime. I was always apologist of not using perfumed products on babies but this is one of the exceptions I have to make because it smells so good, natural and cozy. It adds just a tiny bit of smell of vanilla and lavender which I truly believe that helps her calm down and sleep better through the night.
Some times I use it myself as well because it just smells so nice. Shhh...

Burt's Bees from hands to toes

Moving onto hands!
I recently bought a package From hands to toes which included these products and another one below and I couldn't resist offering this to one of my friends too who, as myself, loves natural products.
Specially after having Eva, blame it on the season or hormones, my hands have been super, extremely dry, so I had to have this hands saver.
I usually have the hand cream in my bag. It smells like honey and it isn't greasy but just makes my hands feel way better when I am out and about. Plus it is a mini size which is awesome as it doesn't adds weight to my bag.
The hands cream with almond and milk has indeed a very rich formula. I prefer using it at home, specially if I don't need to touch anything for a while. Just wash my hands, put the cream and relax. To be honest I am not a fan of the almond smell on this one because it is so natural and it reminds me marzipan but I love the cream itself anyways and I think this is one of those intense treatments worth to make before going to bed. Also the packaging here! I mean it's glass and I love glass packaging in case you didn't notice.
The Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is my favorite cuticle cream on earth so far. It is super hydrating and, as David said, smells like lemon cheesecake. It is so yummy and I just love to massage my cuticles with it from time to time. It is funny how massaging some parts of your body can make you relax so much. Ah!
Last but not least the Hand Salve, it makes justice to the name because it is indeed what it states. It has a fresh sent and I use it as my last resort when my hands are just feeling sad.

Burt's Bees Foot Cream, coconut oil and women'secret socks

Feet feet feet!
This Foot Treatment has been a life saver to my feet. I love the smell of the coconut as well! It is the product with the most faithful coconut smell that I've ever tried. I was having a pretty hard time with my feet the other day, so I spread a bit of this cream on both my feet and went to bed. I kid you not when I'm telling you that I woke up with the softest feet ever. I swear! It was like magic.
This socks... I mean, I couldn't leave them behind. This was a gift from my mom, she bought it in a store that sadly does not exist in Holland. I love them so much and I think that they are so cute that I didn't had the courage of using them yet. One thing I love about them is that the bear is facing the back part of the leg.
Another thing that I love and use everywhere, specially on Eva's bottom or on any scratches is coconut oil. It is the most inexpensive and natural thing you can use and it's so versatile. I just buy it at any nature store and pass it onto another container. I also use it as an hair mask during my bath time and it really does wonders. Plus we use it (a different kind which doesn't smell or taste) on food, it's way healthier!

The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum and Beeswax
Speaking of hair, since I cut my hair short I use this texturing wax from The Body Shop and besides the amazing smell it leaves in my hair for hours it is very simple to apply and it doesn't damage the hair as the gels and mousses do.
After I wash my hair I like to use this Grapeseed Glossing Serum. I rub some drops on my hands to warm it up and put it on the ends of my hair. I don't know if it is from this but I guarantee you that I never have split ends. Food food food for my hair that has been so happy lately!

Necklace and Bracelet
I said in the beginning that this were my random favorites and that's because I also included a couple of non-beauty in here.
This bracelet was my mom who gave to me on my 26th birthday and we almost thought it was lost. So she sent me this via the mail and instead of the usual three to four days it actually took more than a month to arrive. We were so sad because she spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect bracelet and it is so important to her because of all the meaning. But it finally arrived and I am super happy with it.
This necklace was a gift from David. He bought it at the free market on the first King's day in Utrecht here in Holland. It is laser cut and I love it so much.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Now this has nothing to do with beauty, at all, I know. But I couldn't leave it behind because I really love this two.
The little box was, again, David who offered to me. He actually put a ring inside, which I love but I thought I will leave for another time. I just love this little box so much, it is so small and yet so detailed and colorful.
And my mobile of course. I love this mobile, it is supper slim, sharp design, good processor, nice camera, beautiful colors and it's not an iPhone. I am sorry if I disappoint any of you (actually I don't) but no I am not just another hype blogger addicted to apple stuff just because it looks nice on pictures.
I hope you liked this post! Let me know in the comments if there is any product you like and I should try or if you have any questions.
