LANCÔME | THE PERFECT DUO

Lancôme

I decided to spoil myself on my last summer trip to the UK and get some new foundation. And of course that, being the lipstick junkie that I am, I couldn't pass the opportunity to try this new shaker edition from Lancôme as well.
Let's start with the foundation.
I've been searching for the perfect foundation for my skin type for as long as I can remember, and I am so glad I finally found something that feels good on my skin. Don't get me wrong, I have a few foundations that I love for one reason or another, and maybe I'll get into them later on in a different post, but for now, let's talk about this one.
One thing that you should know about me is that, no matter how much I love makeup, I usually don't wear it for like 90 per cent of the year, and whenever I wear makeup, the only thing I don't mind retouching throughout the day is the lipstick. With that being said, I find it imperative that my foundation stays in place all day.
When I saw this "retouch free" foundation I was a bit skeptical about it, I'll admit. But just by combining it with a primer, I have to say that it does last a considerable about of time when compared to some other foundations I previously tried.
Because I have a combination of dry and oily skin, I always look for oil-free face products. This foundation is actually composed with silica and perlite in order to absorb the excess oil and give it a long lasting matte finish.
However, I have a huge problem when it comes to foundations and this one is no exception. The thing is, is that I wear glasses and throughout the day my foundation transfers to the glasses and I eventually end up having a patch on my nose (where the glasses sit) where there's almost no foundation on. Does any of you have the same issue? Do you do anything to fix it? Let me know!

On a day-to-day basis, I prefer a very light coverage, so I normally wear a BB cream instead, just to help even out my skin tone. But if I am going to an event or staying out all day, this is the foundation I choose without blinking.
I wear it in the shade 005 Beige Ivoire (just in case you're wondering) and I feel like only one pump is enough to cover my entire face when looking for a light everyday coverage, or two pumps if I need to build it up to a full coverage.
It has a very natural matte finish and I love the velvety feeling it has on the skin. I will even dare to say that it feels like I'm not wearing any foundation at all (touch wise). It is super light weighted and even though you can build it up to full coverage, it never looks or feels tacky.
What else? Oh, I love the packaging with the diffused glass and all that. But I find myself worrying a lot about it whenever I travel. I actually kept the outside package to protect it when I have it in my makeup bag, and just hope for the best every time I'm traveling with it.

Now let's talk about the Lancôme Juicy Shaker. I got my first one in the shade Vanilla Pop, which is this red color with pink undertones.
Again, I love the packaging and what Lancôme did with this innovative concept.
Ok, so this is literally a shaker, meaning you have to shake it before applying so that the oils mix up with the pigments. Then the necessary amount of "lipstick" will grab onto the cushion applicator and then you have the most pleasurable feeling putting it on. I once was reapplying it on the tram and the girl in front of me almost eat me with her eyes. Maybe from my pleasure face (haha) or maybe just out of curiosity- Yeah, let's stick with that last one!
Anyway, not only they're shakers but they are juicy shakers, so each of them has a different flavor. Just when you think that it can't get any better.
The one that I have has a warm vanilla frosting flavor. To me personally, it reminds me a lot of the Baileys Irish Cream beverage, and I love it! I am very inclined to purchase at least a couple more shades from this edition.
Because this is a lip oil, and very nourishing, I love to use it when my lips are very dry (which is most of the time). I can use it instead of my regular lip balm or place it on top of my lipstick to give it a glossy look because it only has a sublime tint to it. I love it and honestly feel like it was last year's hit in terms of lip innovation.
I heard that Lancôme will launch a new matte version of this shakers pretty soon and that they are quite long lasting, so staying tuned for that!
