LIKE WALKING ON THE MOON

OUR ROAD TRIP THROUGH ICELAND | VOL. III

Iceland

And here is the third part of our beautiful road trip through Iceland. It is almost reaching the end but not quite yet! There's also a part one and part two of this post, so if you haven't seen them go ahead. You won't regret it!
So here we are, on our fifth day in Iceland amazed by the smell of farts from the earth. Ha! Never in my entire life I thought my nose would make me feel so happy smelling such a thing and yet here I am amazed by the most beautiful natural colors and textures while being soaked into the earth. Hverarönd is an active area where you can feel the boiling warm underneath your feet while appreciating all the ice surrounding the place at the same time. You can see several boiling mud pots with different sizes from up close. It is very muddy. Needless to say that our car was not the same after this visit, but who cares. Totally worth it!
After climbing our way up to this massive crater only to see the amazing view from there, we took a deep relaxing bath in the blue waters of Myvatn Nature Baths. Completely relaxed, we moved all the way to a different landscape. We visited one of the most picturesque villages and on the following day, already in a different city, we decided to go see whales.
Thank David for the picture below of one whale because at that moment I was already giving them breakfast. Everything was going great until they stopped the boat to actually see the whales. What else can I say, I will spare you the details, but I spent the rest of that day completely nauseated and my motion sickness has never been the same since then. But highly recommend, if your stomach is up to it. It is indeed a beautiful trip!
