AUTUMN COLORS

Amersfoort, Klein Zwitserland

This is my favorite season of the year and I love spending it here in The Netherlands where you can easily feel the crispness in the air and the crunchy leaves underneath your feet. And the colors! Oh the colors. It's like a boost of warm and coziness before the white, cold (but still lovely) Winter.
Like an yearly ritual, we had to take a special walk - an Autumn Walk! It's not like we don't usually take walks, but every year around this time we visit a new forest, city or village. This time we visited Amersfoort, and here I am sharing with you a sneak peek of one of it's beautiful forests called Klein Zwitserland, or in other words, small Switzerland.
As you may already know, Holland is not known for it's abundance in rocks, stone and hills and most of it is below sea level. Well, in this forest, actually situated 40 meters above sea level, you'll not only find stones but also hills (wow, right?) among beautiful trees, birds, mushrooms and all that cuteness.
And did you know that The Netherlands has around 5,250 species of mushrooms? I was amazed by how many different kinds we randomly found this year.

After all this walking it feels amazing to return home to a cup full of hot chocolate and some warm poffertjes.
I hope that you enjoyed coming along!
